Cleanliness in Finland

The next thing a visitor will notice is the cleanliness that surrounds you. Again mentioning Helsinki airport, the floors positively shine, and the toilets and all facilities are immaculately clean. The Finns take a great pride in their environment and you will never see rubbish and litter lying around. It just isn’t in the Finns’ nature to dirty their environment, and you will soon be frowned upon if you are seen to be throwing rubbish around public places. Hotel rooms, restaurants, shops and even public transport will all appear clean and tidy to the foreign visitor. The focus on cleanliness is all part of the Finnish national pride.

Cleanliness in Finland

One of the great things in Finland is that public conveniences are well equipped. There is always one toilet cubicle which is large and has a hand-held shower, washbasin, mirror and more than adequate space to manoeuvre. In addition, parent and baby rooms will have complimentary nappies, baby-changing mat and potty.
